Process 1. Idea.

Disclaimer. Before we get going, I used Animate to do the animation for Mouse and Robot. Two reason. First, I was locked into the adobe (dreaded) contract. Second, I know how to use it. Animate/Flash.

I would have preferred a more natural look to the line of the animation, especially Mouse. I just didn't have the time or money to learn something new. Next time. Ok, on to the process stuff.

The original ideas for this was an alien blob type creature, trying to get an alien berry. Also, I wanted to do a Looney Toons type gag. Pipe gag.

I based it loosely off a Road Runner and Coyote sketch that I always loved. It involves a cannon ball and this crazy slide to go down. Included is a research image (don't sue me please). It's also sort of neat that the Coyote movie just came out.

The blob has to get the berry. The first berry gets smooshed.  Blob has to go on an adventure.

Then, for some reason, I wanted to add a robot. Robot can try and help get the first berry and crush it. Then, it helps blob find another berry. Somewhere, PIPE GAG!

I'm already rambling. Long story short.
Blob turned into mouse. Mouse wakes up robot. Robot helps mouse to find food. Pipe gag. They find food! That was the original, simple idea. Then I started adding on.

So, less talk, more rock.
Designs.

At the end of the day, I kept the characters as simple as I could. Animation for mouse was top of mind.

Robot originally had a solar panel pop out to charge up and a beacon on top of its head. The solar panel was just redundant, so only the beacon.

Poses from scenes. Some animation frames are not always pretty. Ha!
More process to come.
